The British NHS proposes to establish a central database of patients’ medical records. Tens of thousands of staff will have access to the information, including non-medical social welfare staff. The total number of patients will be in the millions. Luckily the British medical profession (general practitioners, in fact) are sceptical. They are so sceptical that only 11% say they will deliver the information to the NHS.
